The last time I blogged was in May when I was knee deep in nursery prep. I'm happy to report that I got the nursery done just in time for my baby's debut (pictures to come)!!
Paisley was born healthy and happy. We are enjoying parenthood and Gibson is enjoying the newest addition.
I had a laundry list of things to try and get done over my summer maternity leave, but I didn't get to a single one. I made the most out of my leave and spending time with my little girl.
Now that I'm back to work (wow, that went fast!), I feel in the swing of things again and will be tackling DIY's and home decor all while being a MOM. Yahoo!
Cheers!

Nursery before pics
Work has begun on nursery prep now that we are 7 weeks from Graustino's due date. I'm hoping things will take shape quickly as I'm starting to lose steam!
Gibson wondering what's happening to HIS room!
And, here's one with my BIG belly for those of you who have been asking.

Loving this kitchen!
The white cabinets look very similar to those at LaNa. The beadboard is awesome! And, the aqua painted walls are so fresh. I'm loving this to brighten up our space...

Updated desk chair
I'm kicking myself that I don't have a before picture of this project. I swore I had posted one years ago when I first gave it an overhaul for my dining room.
Oh well, here is the most recent picture of it which we will be using in the office/spare room. I love how fresh it looks and how amazing it looks in our newly painted room. More detailed pics to come...

Dresser project
In the past, I blogged about how I would like to re-paint the dresser below.
Dresser before |
My inspiration - Image from Norske Interior Blogger Dresser after The hardware and mirror were spray painted to match. Also, note the new curtains! I bought 2 panels at Target, cut them in half, used the no-sew option of hemming them with iron on/fuseable Stitch Witchery, and voila! |

Desk redo
I repainted an old desk a few years ago, but never got around to figuring out what to do for the pulls/handles. I liked the old original, but they were falling apart. And, I never found a good alternative.
Before:
It's past time for a quick fix!
After:
I'm loving the simplicity of the twine! It's feeling nautical to me. And, in the spare room/office that we just repainted a Caribbean sea blue (pics to come soon!), it seems fitting.

Reusing wooden pallets
Love this idea of wooden pallets for fencing...
Why do I think a pallet fence is a good idea? Well, you can find pallets around town for FREE! Fences are pricey...so, this is definitely economical. Also, you would be saving the pallets from going to a landfill which is definitely earth friendly. Lastly, you will have a unique fence which you can either paint or leave natural.
I found a nifty site that gives you directions on how to go about putting a pallet fence together.

It's been a while...
a while since I've blogged. That's not to say we haven't been busy at LaNa!!
Stay tuned for updates and photos soon.
Cheers to all for a wonderful 2012 and year of the dragon!
- I've been doing a lot of organizing of closets, drawers, and rooms.
- We purchased a new stove when ours died around Thanksgiving and I'm LOVING cooking on the new range.
- Last week, our new living room rug was delivered and is gorgeous!
- We finally bought, DIY'd, and hung curtains in our bedroom - finally!!
- And, of course, I've got a before/after project to share of a bedroom dresser.
Stay tuned for updates and photos soon.
Cheers to all for a wonderful 2012 and year of the dragon!
